About Us
The Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA) of St. Petersburg is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization that unites, educates, and empowers neighborhood associations across the city. Since 1957, CONA has been a trusted voice for neighborhoods, advocating for livable, inclusive, and sustainable communities. Through collaboration, leadership development, and active civic engagement, CONA helps shape a stronger, more connected St. Pete for everyone.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee serves as CONA’s leadership team, guiding the organization’s strategic direction and ensuring that member associations are represented and supported. Elected annually by the membership, this group includes CONA’s officers and committee chairs. The Executive Committee meets regularly to coordinate initiatives, respond to emerging neighborhood needs, and steward CONA’s mission with integrity and transparency.

Standing Committees
CONA’s Standing Committees are the engine behind many of our key programs and advocacy efforts. Each committee focuses on an area essential to neighborhood life—ranging from leadership development and civic engagement to public safety, zoning, and communications. These committees are made up of dedicated volunteers and are open to participation from member association representatives. They provide opportunities for grassroots involvement, skill-building, and collective impact throughout the year.

Special Committees
Special Committees are formed by CONA to address specific projects, time-sensitive issues, or unique opportunities that fall outside the scope of our Standing Committees. These committees are often temporary and goal-oriented, allowing CONA to stay responsive and flexible in meeting the evolving needs of our neighborhoods. Members are appointed based on interest, experience, or expertise, and participation is open to representatives from member associations who are ready to take on focused challenges and help drive meaningful outcomes.
